There are some people in this world that don't grasp the reasons behind a pet lover grieving for their animal and I find that sad. The loyalty and unconditional love that a dog can give its owner without judgement is only shadowed by the love of Jesus. Earlier today, our dog Bella was put to sleep after a five month long battle with bone cancer. It's amazing how within less than a year of having her, this dog firmly took hold of the hearts of everyone she came in contact with. She was such a cool and relaxed dog no matter the situation, who wouldn't love that? In a drama filled world, being around someone or something that doesn't make a big deal out of anything–except massive amounts of love–is refreshing.
I'm thankful for the time I was able to spend with this truly awesome dog. She was such a sweetheart and if I can love people with half as much heart as she did, I would truly be a blessed person. I'm sure someone may read this and think, "Are you seriously wishing you were like a dog?" Well, if we all had the heart of one, I think there would be a lot less trouble in this world. Bella, you rock girlie and I'm glad you're hanging out with Jesus now. Hopefully there are no automatic pet water bowls in Heaven, or at least not near you. You were a 114 lbs, yet the sound of bubbles freaked you out? It still makes me smile just thinking about it. I love you girlie, and we'll all miss you.
