I've been out of the blogging game for a while and with further reading of this blog you may, or may not wish I had continued with that absence. I've come to realize that I'm not focusing as much as I should on the things that God has blessed my life with, even the little things we would normally deem as annoying. I do want to caution those who read this blog not to look for grammatical correctness, or perfect English construction that would make J.R.R. Tolkien weep with joy. I am writing about myself and the things that I am thankful for, with that being said, let's get started.
Coffee
I am thankful for coffee. It only makes sense that the beverage that sustained a 6-year long career in the industry would be my first post. This little brew has gotten me through some tough study hours in college. You know the ones where your eyes are so heavy that you wake up and didn't realize you had fallen asleep? Coffee has also allowed me to meet some very interesting people. One time, a guy came into the coffeehouse I was working at and ordered a 20 oz. espresso. I want to make sure you're getting this one. He wanted a 20 oz. cup FULL of espresso. Do you realize how many shots of espresso it takes to get 20 oz? Typically, each espresso shot is 1 oz. so this guy ordered 20 shots of espresso! I have never drank 20 shots of espresso, but if I had, these are some of the things I would possibly be capable of:
- Run on a treadmill and power a small country for a solid day or six.
- Beat up Superman and spit in Doomsday's eye.
- Find a cure for stupidity.
- Ride the Tour de France backwards while peddling with my hands, juggling with my feet, and singing REM's "It's the End of the World" in fluent Japanese.
I hope you've enjoyed the post and the overwhelming silliness. If I've managed to make you smirk, smile, or laugh, then the post has done it's job. Not all of the posts will be super crazy, but I like adding a humorous flare to most anything I do. I don't see the point in being serious 24/7. The world has plenty of people like Daria.
